Set in part of Tokyo that has descended to a quagmire, the story follows Unit 8 of the 5th Particular Public Security Section's 3rd Mobile Assault Division -- broadly called"The Eighth" -- that don powered armor"Willware" exo-skeletons to cancel the growth in offense . Assistant inspector Asami Kazari is assigned with the job of reporting to her superiors and analyzing the system's status to The Eighth. However, her objective will be to rehabilitate this sloppy, random group.
