She met with Arata Wataya After Chihaya Ayase was at the 6th grade of elementary school. Arata Wataya transferred from Fukui Prefecture. Taichi Mashima has been Chihaya Ayase's friend since they were little. Arata got from the card-game karuta close to tai-chi and Chihaya. Four decades after, Chihaya is a senior school student. Chihaya learns that Arata, that went straight back into Fukui Prefectureand karuta, doesn't play anymore. Believing Arata will be met by them again, Chihaya and tai-chi starts a karuta club at their school.
