J.B. Ball, a wealthy investor, is fed up with his family's extravagant spending habits, and he decides to take action. His wife had just purchased a very expensive sable coat, and he decides to toss it out the window, where it is caught by the unfortunate and hard-working Mary Smith. As he quickly finds out, though, it is not that simple to merely hand over something that is so important.
