Vidya Bagchi (Vidya Balan) arrives at Kolkata out of London to locate her lost husband Arnab Bagchi. alone at a town that is joyous seven months, she begins a search for the husband. With nothing to count on except fragments out of her memories all traces appear to achieve a deadend if everyone attempts to convince Vidya that her husband does not exist. She realises that nothing is what it seems. In a city saturated in lies, Vidya is made to unravel the truth about her husband - at the cost of her life - even to get her unborn child and herself.
