In a sleepy little town in the south of France, the mayor, who also owns a castle and some cattle, may be found in the wine cellar with a few other individuals, including the pharmacist, the veterinarian, and some of his employees. They are in the middle of sipping wine when they suddenly hear a horrifying noise, and the temperature continues to rise. They are unaware of what is taking place; when they emerge from the cellar, they find that everything has burned to the ground and that all of the buildings have been destroyed...
