Zhenzhen is smuggled into Trinidad and immediately faces threats. Her brother Wei, who is employed on the island in construction, intervenes and offers to repay her debt, despite the fact that he lacks the funds. Wei secures a job for Zhenzhen at a Chinese restaurant and attempts to obtain an advance from his boss.
