A set of rule-abiding prep school students -- Zack,'' Lawrence, Freddy, Summer and Tomika -- know to take risks and reach new heights as a result of replacement teacher Dewey Finn, a down-on-his-luck musician who uses the terminology of rock'n' roll to inspire his class to form a secret band. Throughout the school year, these classmates find themselves broadcasting relationships, discovering their talents that are unknown and learning lessons about friendships and loyalty.
