An arrogant third master of a strong family falls in love at first sight with a beautiful young maiden and takes all available methods to demand her hand in marriage, despite the fact that she has a crush on another guy. In the beginning of a forced marriage, she resents him and rejects all of his advances and displays of affection, but after overcoming barriers in times of war and turmoil, their love story eventually grows. Things grow more complicated, though, when her former flame reappears and becomes her husband's assistant. The novel by Fei Wo Si Cun has been adapted.
