Bruce Cogburn, a reclusive and controversial author, is coaxed out of hiding by an obsessive admirer, who forces him to confront a past from which he believed he had escaped, as well as account for events put in motion by his best-selling work decades ago. Cogburn's search for the perpetrators of the deception and mental anguish he endures takes him on a terrifying emotional roller coaster, where things are not always as they appear and past actions can have dire consequences.
