On the basis of the story by Antoine deSaint-Exupery, this bewitching musical fable begins being an pilot (Richard Kiley) creates a forced landing the barren Sahara Desert. He is befriended by a"little" prince from Earth Asteroid B612. From the days that follow, the pilot learns of journeys by and the boy's history.
