After bringing his beautiful new bride Paula from the isolated island where she was raised to the United States, Professor Norman Reed begins to sense the conflict between his world of rational science and hers of weird dancing and bizarre voodoo rites. Norman's snobbish friends are also aware of Paula's odd behavior, and their meddling talk and suspicious plotting soon force the poor woman to use her magic to defend herself and her husband – and possibly kill! Or is it merely the influence of suggestion?
