The film chronicles the life of great 1970s runner Steve Prefontaine, from his infancy in Oregon to his time at the University of Oregon, where he worked with legendary coach Bill Bowerman, and subsequently to the Munich Olympics and his untimely death in a car crash at the age of 24.
