To keep up with the sudden shift in music, the quirky personalities that work at a Cincinnati radio station must fast adapt. Andy Travis, the station's new programming director, brings in a new DJ dubbed Venus Flytrap to work alongside the station's burnt-out veteran, Dr. Johnny Fever. As a group, they include neurotic newsman Les Nessman, a sleazy salesperson named Herb Tarlek, a beautiful stunner named Jennifer Marlowe, a station manager named Arthur Carlson, and his overbearing mother.
