ZTV and other IPTV players
On a Samsung or LG smart TV, the IPTV players people usually name are Smart IPTV, IBO Player, SS IPTV and IPTV Smarters' Smarters Player Lite. TiviMate is often named too, but it runs on Android TV and Fire TV, not on Samsung or LG TVs. Like them, ZTV is a player: none of them include channels, and each plays a source you bring. This is where ZTV is different.
| ZTV | Many other players | |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung and LG smart TVs | Yes: Samsung and LG from 2018 (Tizen 4.0, webOS 4) | Smart IPTV, IBO Player and Smarters Player Lite: yes. TiviMate: no, it is for Android TV and Fire TV |
| Adding your playlist | On the TV with the remote, or typed on your phone after scanning a code | Often on the player's website, by the TV's MAC address or a device key |
| Xtream and M3U | Both | Varies: some read only M3U playlists |
| Films and series | From an Xtream source, with posters, seasons and Continue watching | Varies by player |
| Programme guide | The source's own, plus national guides added for your channels' countries | Usually the source's own, or one you add |
| Try before installing | In the browser, at ztv.to/demo | A trial on the TV |
| Without a source of your own | ZTV Classics: public-domain films and series, free | Nothing to play |
| Price | A free week, then an hour a day free; unlock one TV once, or ZTV Unlimited for any of your TVs, one at a time | Per TV, once or by the year, after a trial; see each player's site |
| Account | None needed; optional Google sign-in carries your settings and sources to your other TVs | Usually tied to one TV |
In short
- Set up on the TV. No website to visit and no MAC address to copy: add an Xtream server or an M3U playlist in Settings → Sources.
- Try it first. The demo is ZTV itself, in the browser, playing ZTV Classics.
- More than live TV. Films and series from your source, a guide that fills in from national guides, favourites and search.
- Free to use, an hour a day. Pricing has what removes the limit.
What the other players do comes from their own sites and help pages, as of October 2026, and changes; check theirs before you choose. Anything wrong here? Tell us on the Support page.
