ZTV, the TV app · last updated 4 October 2026
ZTV is a TV app for playing your own IPTV sources, with an hour of free viewing a day and a one-time unlock per TV. This page says what ZTV stores about you, why, where, and how to have it deleted. In short: very little, and nothing about what you watch.
Who is responsible
ZTV is made by Johan Dahlborg, Mauritius. For anything about your data, write to support@ztv.to.
What stays on your TV
These are stored only on the TV and are never sent to us:
- your IPTV sources — server addresses, usernames and passwords, and playlists;
- your favourites, recently watched channels and films, and your settings;
- how much of today's free hour you have used.
The TV fetches channels, programme guides and streams directly from the sources you add, not through us.
What we store, if you choose OK
The first time ZTV starts, it asks whether it may create a ZTV account for the TV. Nothing below is stored if you choose "No thanks", and ZTV works the same either way. If you choose OK, we store:
- The TV's account: a random account and device identifier, the TV's model and model code, software and Tizen version, screen type (for example 4K, HDR), the ZTV version, and when the TV was first and last used. This is how we know which TVs ZTV runs on, and it is what sign-in and purchases attach to.
- If you sign in with Google: Google's identifier for your account, your email address, your name, first name and profile picture address. We ask Google for nothing else — not your contacts, files or YouTube activity. Your name and picture are shown on the TV.
- If you unlock a TV: the order number, the email address the purchase was made with, the amount, the currency, the date, and which TV it unlocks. These are kept so the unlock can be restored after a reset or moved to another TV, and as a record of the sale.
- While signing in or paying: a short-lived record linking the QR code on the TV to the sign-in or checkout. Sign-in records are deleted once used.
What we never collect
- your IPTV usernames, passwords or stream addresses;
- what you watch, when, or for how long;
- payment card details — payments are handled entirely by Polar (below), and card details never reach us.
Tests you run yourself
Account → Tests offers a TV & network check and a playback test. Only when you start one, its results are sent to us: the TV's model and software, measured internet and provider speeds, and — for the playback test — the names and stream numbers of the channels it played and how the player behaved, plus your answers to its questions. Never a login or a stream address. Test results are kept for 90 days.
Reports you send to support
Account → Support → Send a report sends, only when you press it: the TV's details, the app's Activity log (which never contains logins or passwords), recent playback events such as channel switches and freezes, and the TV's account identifiers so the report can be matched to you. The TV then shows a code for your phone, where you may add a description, photos of the screen, and an email address if you would like an answer. Reports and what is added to them are kept for 90 days.
Who processes it for us
- Cloudflare runs our servers. Accounts and purchases are stored in a Cloudflare database located in Western Europe; test results in Cloudflare's key-value storage.
- Google provides "Sign in with Google". Its own privacy policy applies to your Google account.
- Polar (polar.sh) sells the unlock as merchant of record: it takes the payment, handles taxes and receipts, and tells us when a TV has been paid for. Its own privacy policy applies to the purchase.
- YouTube: the YouTube rows on the home screen list videos from public YouTube channels, which our server reads. Choosing a video opens it in the TV's own YouTube app, where YouTube's privacy policy applies.
We do not sell or share your data with anyone else, and ZTV shows no advertising of its own.
How long we keep it
- The TV's account and a linked Google account: until you delete the account.
- Purchases: as long as needed to restore unlocks and for our accounting records.
- Test results and support reports: 90 days.
Deleting your data, and your other rights
On the TV, Account → Delete account deletes the TV's account from our servers, together with a linked Google account when no other TV uses it. Sign out of Google unlinks your Google account from that TV. Records of purchases are kept, as above, unless you ask us to delete them.
You may ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by writing to support@ztv.to. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom you also have the rights the GDPR gives you, including complaining to your data protection authority.
Children
ZTV is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data about them.
